The House of the Raging Bull has done it again. They have unleashed a Bull of a different breed…it’s electrifying! Sant’ Agata Bolognese introduced the first Lamborghini plug-in hybrid. It was introduced at the October 2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile. NotoriousLuxury presents the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 concept. It retains the legendary heritage and formidable track-scorching power. This Raging Bull has refined manners and is suited to be a luxurious daily driver.

The Asterion LPI 910-4 is a 21st century hyper cruiser. This is innovative technology and outstanding performance blended into a luxury supersports car. It is a Raging Bull like no other synthesizing cutting-edge engineering from the current Lamborghini product range adding hybrid technology. Forward thinking and investing in new technologies allows the brand to set new benchmarks for the industry.

The Asterion LPI 910-4 is equipped with a longitudinally placed, naturally aspirated mid-rear 5.2 litre V10 engine. The fast shifting 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is located behind the engine at the rear transaxle. An electric motor with an integral starter motor and generator (ISG) is mounted between the engine and the double-clutch gearbox.

Two electric motors are placed at the front axle and are fed by the ISG power unit with a torque vectoring function. The Asterion may be driven combining all three electric motors for permanent all-wheel drive without using battery power and in all-electric mode which uses the two front electric motors only with a cruising range of 31 miles.

The mid-rear mounted V10 engine produces 610 hp with 560 Nm of peak torque. The V10 combined with all three motors produce a total of 910 hp sprinting from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds. A transparent engine cover is made of three hexagonal glasses that rotate according to the driving modes: pure electric, hybrid power, and pure thermal power.

The artisans at Sant’ Agata Bolognese have always taken the supercar to where no other automaker has ever gone before. The Asterion LPI 910-4 is beautifully hand-crafted in the notorious Lamborghini fashion. Its monocoque is made of carbon-fibre. The dramatic front end styling is made as a single component to boost aerodynamic efficiency.

The front active air intakes are double layered crafted with metal and titanium fused together using the familiar Lambo-style flaunting geometric shapes. A multi-dimensional effect is augmented by forged carbon and titanium accentuated headlamps. Classic Lamborghini DNA is evident in this new model in the continuing saga of the adventures of the Raging Bull.

The masters of the art at Lamborghini Centro Stile created the Asterion LPI 910-4 to look as good coming as well as its departure. The rear end design is aggressively contemporary. The Lambo bloodlines show in its traditional taillamps.

The massive diffuser is flanked by a set of chrome dual exhaust extensions. These lines flow into the architecture with finesse. This elegant refinement exhibits a new design language for the Raging Bull.

Its silhouette is strikingly familiar. Every bodyline, every contour is designed to manage airflow. It channels air to cool the engine and brakes. The front manages stability with anti-lift geometry while the rear maximizes downforce and optimizes stability with anti-squat geometry.

The wide doors open outward for easy access to the spacious ergonomically designed cabin. The “A” pillars are higher providing more head room. The seats are positioned higher than the other Lamborghini models to ensure a comfortable ride. The Asterion is more of a luxury cruiser than its extreme stablemates to ensure a comfortable ride. Glove soft leather, aluminium, and carbon-fibre create an ambience of elegance making it a supercar with the distinction of a grand tourer. This is the first hyper cruiser from the House of the Raging Bull.

Its instrumentation logically groups vital information to the driver at a glance. The three spoke steering wheel includes three buttons to select the engine driving modes: Zero – zero emissions, full electric; I – ibrido (hybrid); and T – Termico or Thermo power. A portable tablet allows the occupants to operate the climate control, GPS, and infotainment systems. Its battery pack is stored in the center tunnel to guard it from impact just in case. The Asterion LPI 910-4 is most definitely a 21st century dream come true leaving the other automakers to flounder in its wake…

The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 resembles a bull just before it charges the matador. Tradurre l’Asterion forte como un toro. Prendere il toro per le corna per Tradurre! The name itself is inspired by a legend. The mythical Minotaur, Asterion (the starry one) is a hybrid figure with crossbreeding. It’s the story of the powerful fusion between intellect and instinct – part man and part bull – creating a powerful archetype. He was a man-eating monster. Does this mean the other supercars should beware of this 21st century supercar? Of course it does –

The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 concept is highly feasible to become one of the next generations of the Raging bull…only in a more discrete fashion. It is everything that makes a Lamborghini…a Lamborghini. This Lambo isn’t as ferocious as the other bulls in the pen although the power is still there, just a tap of the accelerator away. The Asterion can be as docile as a summer breeze…or as relentless as a hurricane.

It is the first plug in hybrid from Lamborghini. This is the civilized Lambo that can be a daily driver. Its elegance adds refinement in a totally avant-garde design…and discharged in a manner that only Sant’ Agata Bolognese could convey. Its power is derived from a mid-rear longitudinally mounted V10 engine. With all three of its electric motors engaged it provides permanent all-wheel drive, producing 910 hp allowing it to sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds. This is a Lambo like no other…it is another technological innovation from the House of the Raging Bull –
