The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse was released at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The Squadra Corse brings motorsport to the street. This new and most extreme model in the Gallardo series is based upon the Gallardo Super Trofeo, the race car that competes in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo…it is the fastest one-make series. The Squadra Corse will be built at a restricted pace adding to its enigmatic reputation. It is priced at 191,100 Euros plus tax. ( I love it when they use the ‘plus-tax’ on a Lambo…..that tax is pocket change when one is driving a Lambo!)

The name Squadra Corse refers to the newly developed department within Sant’ Agata Bolognese that manages motorsport activities from GT3 to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championships in Europe, Asia, and the USA.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is based directly upon the race car. It uses the same V10 engine with NO modifications. Its lightweight construction is the result of Lamborghini carbon-fibre technology. This gives the Squadra Corse an excellent power-to-weight ratio providing performance with aplomb! This Lambo is a rocket with its 570 hp alloy power plant, it catapults from 0-62 in a mere 3.4 seconds.

The Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is equipped as the Super Trofeo competition version that is based upon the running gear of the Superleggera. The Squadra Corse comes equipped as standard with the robotized e-gear 6-speed transmission operated by paddles behind the steering wheel. It shifts faster than with human intervention. Also standard is the patented Lamborghini permanent all-wheel drive to optimize traction and stability.

One of the more powerful bulls in Automobili Lamborghini’s stable, the Squadra Corse, will be another instant success. With its race car physique and athletic aerodynamics, it packs a prolific punch with 570 ponies fiercely running rampant. This recalcitrant bull is a rolling showcase of Lamborghini carbon-fibre technology. If it is extreme and no other automaker has done it……Lambo makes it happen!
