The cockpit with TFT-LCD display also comes as standard, the multi-media HMI system with Navigation includes traffic data, iPod connection and Bluetooth. The automatic climate control functions with a sunlight sensor, with further sensors controlling the auto headlamp system. The bi-Xenon headlamps come with LED technology daytime running lights. With Ad Personam, Automobili Lamborghini’s bespoke customization program, a virtually inexhaustible array of choices are available for both the interior and exterior. A full leather single-color interior is available in either Nero Alde (black) or Marrone Elpis, a warm brown shade. Contrasting stitching can be ordered also in a palette of colors. The two-toned leather interior is offered in two style lines. The Bicolor Sportivo has a base color of black with the contrast in orange, white, yellow, or green. Bicolor Elegante presents a blend of earth toned browns.

The Aventador LP 700-4 flagship utilizes full monocoque. The occupant cell, with tub and roof is made into a single component. The load bearing structure of the vehicle is engineered as a “single shell” that functions as one component, taking full advantage of the extreme rigidity of CFRP. The carbon-fibre occupant cell functions as an extremely safe roll cage. Superior passive safety and very high torsional rigidity are benefits of a full carbon-fibre monocoque. The entire unit weighs only 325.18 pounds.

The super lightweight construction ensures extreme rigidity providing outstanding driving precision as well as a high level of passive safety for cabin occupants. The monocoque, combined with its front and rear aluminium frames feature an impressive combination of extreme torsional stiffness of 35,000 Newton meters per degree and weighs only 505.9 pounds.

Because of the complexities of all of the materials and processes, the monocoque is produced in-house to oversee these complex production processes. Quality Control is crucial. Every single monocoque is measured to exacting tolerances of only 0.1 millimeters, facilitating the extreme precision of the overall vehicle. QC starts with the purchase of carbon-fibre parts. Each delivery of carbon-fibre is certified and the material is checked regularly for compliance with QC standards. Lamborghini worked with its suppliers to develop a world-exclusive fibre and resin system for its RTM-Lambo technology. These materials and processes constitute an important part of Lamborghini’s world-wide leading expertise in the technology.

Carbon-fibre materials are throughout the Aventador LP 700-4. Its full monocoque construction is made with innovative materials conceived and produced by Sant’ Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini is the only supercar manufacturer to have fully mastered the extensive CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced polymers) process across a range of technologies in-house from 3-D design, simulation testing, with production and validation using modern industrial processes to the very highest quality standards. The application of carbon-fibre materials forms the key foundation for the extreme dynamics of the Aventador LP 700-4. Lamborghini once again demonstrates its world-wide leading expertise in carbon-fibre technology.

More Lamborghini technology includes the use of a highly advanced and unique technology for its “start/stop” system in the Aventador LP 700-4. The energy for restarts following a stop phase such as a red light is delivered by high performance capacitors called supercaps. They enable a quick restart, V12 power is restored in an imperceptible 180 milliseconds. This technology is significantly faster than with conventional systems.

The Cylinder Deactivation System (CDS) allows the engine to run as an inline six cylinder; the CDS deactivates one cylinder bank at certain speeds. The slightest touch to the accelerator restores all 12 cylinders imperceptibly. Both the start/stop system and CDS act quickly and are virtually unnoticeable during operation to the driver having no negative impact on the overall driving experience. The benefit of efficiency is noticeable with less fuel consumption and reduction in emissions as much as 20%.

Options include transparent engine cover, black painted wheels and brake calipers in yellow, grey or orange. The standard audio system can be upgraded to the high-end Lamborghini Sound System with premium speakers featuring neodymium technology and 4x 135 watt amplifiers. Park assistance systems include proximity sensors front and rear as well as a reversing camera.

The doors of the Aventador LP 700-4 open upward. The Lamborghini Countach introduced this avant-garde feature and was then used by Lamborghini for their V12 models such as the Diablo and Murcielago. It uses a sophisticated electronically managed air intake system that open depending on outdoor temperatures and the need for cooling air; ensuring maximum aerodynamic efficiency. 

The Aventador LP 700-4 uses a highly sophisticated suspension. The pushrod spring and damper concept was used in Formula 1 race cars. It has been refined to roadcar standards. It uses an aluminium double wishbone and carbon ceramic brakes. The Aventador LP 700-4 includes a ‘thinking’ steering system adjusting the variable-ratio to the current road conditions encountered by the driver. The pushrod principle includes spring/damper elements connected to the bodyshell structure transversely mounted under the windscreen in the front and close to the engine in the rear. Pushrods and relay levers/rockers transmit the forces from the wheel mounts to the spring/damper elements.

The Aventador LP 700-4 uses the Drive Select Mode System which allows the driver to select vehicle characteristics for the engine, transmission, differential, steering and dynamic control from three settings: Strada (road), Sport, and Corsa (track) to suit his driving needs. The Corsa Mode is for maximum shift control for race track driving. This mode also includes “Launch Control” which is the automatic function for maximum acceleration from a standard start.

The Aventador LP 700-4 has an alloy 6.5 litre V12 engine mated to an ISR transmission. The quick shifting ISR transmission shifts in only 50 milliseconds. The Independent Shifting Rod gearbox is lighter with smaller dimensions. It is the fastest robotized gearbox compared to a dual clutch transmission. The Aventador LP 700-4 produces a whopping 700 hp @ 8,250 rpm with maximum torque of 509 lb-ft @ 5,500 rpm. This is extreme bull-like power from Automobili Lamborghini.

It uses permanent all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled Haldex coupling that distributes the forces between the front and rear. In a matter of milliseconds this coupling distributes the forces to match the situation. The Aventador LP 700-4 uses a self-blocking rear differential with a front differential electronically controlled by ESP to make for even more dynamic handling.
