Maserati is the purveyor in design and construction of unique convertible coupes. The GranCabrio MC maintains the tradition elegantly as a four seat cabriolet with the added technological expertise gained on the race track by Maserati Corse. Features developed for the Gran Turismo MC Stradale have been adapted to a sleek convertible masterfully sculpted by the wind.

GranCabrio MC uses the 4.7 litre V8 tuned to Gran Turismo MC Stradale specifications with 460 bhp. The race-track developed aerodynamics and the six-speed auto-adaptive gearbox move this topless beauty with aplomb. Unusually spirited performance rarely experienced in a cabrio is at your command. This is Maserati’s sportiest cabriolet.

The six-speed automatic gearbox features auto-adaptive software that intuitively responds adapting to the driving style and conditions. This unique MC Auto Shift technology operates on a constantly changing cycle to make driving more satisfying. In manual mode the gear can be changed at any rpm up to the limiter actuation point.

GranCabrio MC utilizes a rigid wishbone suspension with dampers and springs that have higher tolerances, and can be combined with the optional Skyhook electronic ride control system. With this option, continuously variable dampers adapt each wheel calibrating as needed. When the “Sport” button is activated, GranCabrio MC springs to life with precision and aggression.

The Maserati Stability Program (MSP) coordinates sure-footed performance conquering the severest road conditions effortlessly. Adjustments are expedited faster than the driver’s reaction, therefore, the issue is detected and corrected before the driver is even aware that there was an issue.

Brembo dual-cast technology is used, the discs are crafted from cast iron and aluminium. This system reduces weight by 15% to 20% while offering enhanced performance and longer life. The front axle is fitted with six piston Monobloc calipers and four piston units fitted to the rear combined with drilled and slotted discs all around. We all know how competent Brembo is in the world of stopping supercars….nuff said.

Its color, original pearly white is reminiscent of the white and blue striped trim of the Tipo 61 Birdcage, a car that competed successfully in the top US Championships of the early 1960s. The GranCabrio MC uses the new Bianco Birdcage three-layer paint finish. With an iridescent nature, its unusual blue tints highlight the ever changing glow of the paint viewed from different angles.

An open vehicle has always been a different breed and with each, a special “attitude.” The GranCabrio MC and its superb ergonomic cabin is a rare experience. It is the perfect marriage of luxury and logic, luxurious….yet sporty….sporty….yet luxurious. With the top down, one may savor the exhaust notes that change with the rpm and driving style….an awesome authoritative growl is emitted when “Sport” mode is activated.

Poltrona Frau Leather, Alcantara, carbon fibre and skill come together to create the GranCabrio MC’s cabin. Through the Maserati personalization program, one may create a bespoke GranCabrio MC for absolute exclusivity. One interesting package available coordinates the bodywork and the soft top with the brake calipers.

The Alcantara package follows cues created for the Gran Turismo MC Stradale. This material is lighter than leather, both sporty and luxurious. It is used on the instrumentation brow, central armrest, door panel/handle armrest, center of dash, and center console. More diverse options include; choices of wood or lacquered shades for a sophisticated look. The fascia, door panels and rear side panels are finished in Dark Chrome as standard equipment. A new EcoChrome is available which resembles the glow of molten metal.

The “MC Sport Line” package is available in a number of configurations. Carbon fibre dominates this series of options, both interior and exterior detailing to enhance GranCabrio MC even further. These packages include 20” Black Neptune alloy rims.

An elegantly unique Shadow Line version is available. The massive iconic Maserati oval grille features black fillets and a Trident with red moldings in the center. The shadow Line version tastefully finishes exterior details in matte black. The front lighting system is also augmented with the black matte scheme.

The rear of the GranCabrio MC has a re-designed bumper. The tail pipes are fitted higher to allow air extraction from beneath the vehicle increasing the airflow. The spoiler with its integral center brake light is designed to produce downforce at higher speeds.

The GranCabrio MC is a unique automobile that maintains the elegance and luxury of style from Maserati’s first genuine four seat cabriolet…..with the technology and expertise gained on the race track by Maserati Corse. This is the “topless” version of the formidable Gran Turismo MC Stradale so I need not clarify its omniscience…..
