“Big Ben’s” rise to ultimate success reads like a modern-day “Cinderfella” story. Poor little understudy, Bentley…was always in the shadows. As its wicked step sibling – Rolls Royce – rode off on its high horse stealing the publicity and limelight…Bentley was left behind to clean the stables. The once formidable track star – which negotiated the chicanes and the Mulsanne Straight winning numerous events in the grueling 24 hours of LeMans – was reduced to a badge engineered clone. Today’s Bentley…the all-new Bentley – is now at home behind gated estates AND is parked right beside Rolls Royce at the country club sharing the spotlight equally.

Bentley has catapulted from being a humble Rolls Royce throwback…straight to eminent immortality. The flagship of the fleet is the iconic Bentley Mulsanne. It has swiftly established its reputation in the ultra-luxury car segment being part limousine and part performance saloon. The ultra-exclusive Bentley Mulsanne is one of the world’s fastest four-door saloons. “Big Ben” is back with a vengeance and a thirst for adventure. It has carved its own niche as a new breed of luxury with three distinctive models: Mulsanne, Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase, and Mulsanne Speed. This is a unique Trilogy of Luxury – each offers its own poised dignity which is a hallmark of the brand.

Alluring new beauty

The Mulsanne totally disregards status quo. Since its inception, it has created its own unique manner of exclusivity in a niche no other motorcar can fill. For 2017, the Bentley Mulsanne features refined new beauty. Its coachwork has been re-tooled for a familiar yet dramatically new appearance. The long, low, wind-cheating architecture draws from its retrospective heritage. The bodywork is etched with a symphony of lines that appear never beginning and never-ending forcing the eyes to roam its entirety in a single appraisal.

Its facelift creates even more exquisite beauty. Mulsanne represents the pinnacle of elegance in ultra-luxury motoring. Its new refinement begins with a restyled front end ensemble. Everything in front of the “A” pillars has been refreshed adding graceful definition. Mulsanne’s signature styling has been retained yet tastefully updated.

The elegant redesign echoes classic Bentley styling cues. The bold new attributes features all-new front wings and bonnet. Its classic grille work has changed from the previous matrix design to a distinctive wider framed design with dominant vertical stainless-steel vanes. Its familiar LED projector headlamps proudly features the Bentley name. The grille work repeats below the impact-resistant bumper with symmetrical vents for the air induction system.

Subtle refinement adds panache to the rear end ensemble. Newly designed taillamps highlight Mulsanne’s sculpted look. The previous ellipse style taillamps are replaced with a dramatic LED design which reveals the famous “B” motif. The discreetly modified profile gives Mulsanne a prominent, more upright appeal. Understated dual stainless-steel exhaust ports adds the finishing touch of class.

Superb engineering

The familiar silhouette has undergone a subtle enhancement. Its chiseled new definition adds unique character. Its shoulders are squared off to augment a sweeping new elegance. The side strake vents sports an integrated “B” into its stainless-steel charm. Mulsanne’s beauty is composed of a galvanized steel bodyshell with its front wings, hood and doors made from aluminium. The SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) composite bootlid has an integrated antenna.

Mulsanne is built like no other. Bentley’s process of hand-brazing yields perfect joins around intricate curves. The bonnet, boot lid, doors, and front wings are crafted using the “Superform Process.” This patented system creates complex panels from a single sheet of product to eliminate body seams and welds. This feature not only eliminates areas for corrosion but also aids aerodynamic efficiency. Each Mulsanne is a consummate blend of design excellence, advanced engineering, and of course… exemplary fit and finish.

Luxury and innovation

Mulsanne is a showcase of Bentley superlatives. Evolution plays an important role in the continual strive for excellence. The company flagship is one of the world’s most spacious and splendidly appointed saloons. It offers more than inert luxury; it cossets its passengers in technological sophistication. Intelligent electronics and controls assist the driver and elevates passenger comfort.

Advanced chassis refinement with more efficient air springs and hydraulically damped sub-frames eliminates noise 4 decibels more than the previous model. Noise absorbing technology in the tires results in a 50% decrease in peak rolling noise. Mulsanne’s formidable V8 does its part by reducing noise another 25 decibels using a closed loop system to cancel vibration.

The most elegant occasion seldom surpass the splendor of the journey in the Bentley Mulsanne that took you there. The epochal Bentley brand is epitomized by the luxury and distinction of the Mulsanne. Its world-class attributes are further exemplified offering three unique expressions of this elite flagship. Each shares the unparalleled opulence that is the essence of the brand.

Mulsanne…Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase…and Mulsanne Speed all create a delightful agony of choice. Whatever model is chosen, rest assured…it will move over the road with an effortless feeling of mastery that confirms its place as the ultimate statement of Bentley engineering. They are three of the most ambitious four-door luxury saloons the world has to offer –

Mulsanne standard wheelbase is contemporary luxury that methodically repeals the laws governing saloons in its class. This is high performance cloaked in absolute respectability. It cossets its occupants in an exclusive world of supple natural grain leather and rich handcrafted veneers. Most every power assist imaginable is standard fare to augment comfort and convenience.

The Mulsanne received cabin updates for the 2017 model year. Redesigned seats, door trim, armrests, and unique glass switch gear makes it even more opulent. In addition to 24 exquisite hide colors, Mulsanne features an all-new infotainment system and navigation technology. State of the art audio and visual equipment is available to tailor the entertainment system to the owner’s requisites. The Bentley Mulsanne can serve with equal distinction as a high performance touring saloon or the varying roles demanded of a family sedan.

Luxury with an emphasis on the rear passenger compartment is important to those who prefer to be driven about in style. Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase is 9.8” longer than the standard saloon. This means…rear seat passengers have more legroom and room for special appointments.

Limousine-style seating makes use of the extra inches by incorporating power assisted leg rests into the base of the aircraft inspired lounge seats. These extend outward pivoting as recliners. They make the special world of Mulsanne even more so. This extra exclusive cabin is a 2+2 configuration with front and rear center consoles.

The exclusivity is augmented with options to make the Mulsanne EWB saloon a highly bespoke masterpiece. Electric rear seat curtains may be requested with a black or champagne lining for the ultimate in privacy. Both rear seats can be ordered with deployable folding tables. A large glass sun roof over the rear cabin may be operated by passengers or the driver. It tilts and slides with an Alcantara sun blind to control light entering the cabin. The extra special accoutrements focused upon the rear seat passenger compartment sets this personal limousine apart from the standard saloon. Bentley Mulsanne is the quintessential flagship replete with an elegant flair all its own. The Mulsanne EWB saloon is luxury and elegance on the grand Bentley scale…in the grand Bentley manner –

…welcome to elite sophistication

Rear seat passengers benefit from the all-new “Bentley Entertainment Tablet.” A pair of 10.2” Android devices with 4G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability are integrated into the front seat backs and deploy at the touch of a button. The Android powered tablets feature Bentley-specific interface with access to over one million Android Apps.

They may also be used away from the car. Each tablet has 32GB on-board storage capability. The system interfaces with the car’s navigation system. Audio/Visual streaming capability is included as part of the Mulsanne’s inter-connectivity along with internet browsing. With a motorcar as highly bespoke as Mulsanne, the client may design their own exclusive suite of infotainment to interface with home or office systems.

Mulsanne EWB is the epitome of executive-class luxury

The famous 1929 “Blue Train” Bentley

Introducing one of the fastest production limos in the world

The formidable Mulsanne Speed

The return of the silent sports car…

Mulsanne nomenclature adorned a new breed of Bentley supercars beginning the 1981 model year. Bentley Mulsanne was marketed as “The return of the silent sports car.” This spectacular motorcar revived the Grand Touring tradition with high style and a prolific presence few cars can compete…

It targets the driver who demands luxury with extraordinary performance combined with European handling and finesse. This is the ultimate statement of Bentley sporting philosophy. The Mulsanne is named after a portion of the tracks at LeMans where drivers reach their highest speeds known as “The Mulsanne Straight.”

The 2014 Mulsanne Speed blew the doors off its competition

This is the ride for executives who work…quickly –

The illustrious Mulsanne Speed became the most spirited contemporary Bentley model joining the ranks for the 2014 model year. Mulsanne Speed for 2017 is a pulse-invigorating performance saloon that offers substantially more than performance. Talented artisans handcraft rare veneers, high quality natural grain hides, and plush pile carpets into a cabin of unsurpassed comfort and distinction.

Mulsanne Speed remains true to form being a fast sporting machine built in the classic European tradition. Performance, impressive road capabilities, silence, and superb comfort come together in the newest of a historic and elegant line of motorcars that have made Bentley the definitive choice among enthusiasts for well over half a century.

Mulsanne Speed has its own prominent character

Here’s a grand touring saloon that does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds

Mulsanne Speed is one of the most tastefully appointed sporting saloons in the world. A coined finish to door handles, knurled gear shift lever, and “organ stop” ventilation controls gives the cabin its own unique personality. The drilled alloy foot pedals proves the Mulsanne Speed’s pedigree as the ultimate grand tourer. The cabin is as luxurious as it is sporting –

1929 Bentley 6.5 litre

The heart and soul of this British masterpiece beats the 6.75 litre light alloy 16-valve OHV twin-turbocharged V8 engine. High revs at low rpm is a Bentley hallmark. This legendary powerplant cranks an astounding 530 hp @ 4,000 rpm packing a prolific punch with 1,100 Nm of peak torque @ 1,750 rpm for the Mulsanne Speed. Mulsanne and Mulsanne EWB offers equally impressive performance pumping 505 hp @ 4,000 rpm with an astounding 1,020 Nm of peak torque at 1,750 rpm.

Its chassis is equally aggressive to accommodate this masterful motorcar. Advanced technology delivers one of the world’s most refined rides with effortless comfort via selectable sports suspension to fine tune the ride to the driver’s preference. This luxury brute is highly capable of performance that would shame a sports car. Longitudinal acceleration for the Mulsanne Speed is rated as 0-60 mph in a mere 4.8 seconds with a top speed in the 190 mph range. While Mulsanne and Mulsanne EWB has longitudinal acceleration rated as 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds with a top speed in the 184 mph range.

High performance is nothing new to any Bentley. From its humble beginnings with its creator W.O. Bentley who initiated the legend to the notorious Bentley Boys that earned consecutive wins from 1927 to 1930 at the grueling 24 hours of LeMans – Bentley EARNED its respect.

Bentley has always been a tad bit more spirited than its Rolls Royce counterpart. It was considered the sporting version of Rolls Royce for the owner who wished to maintain a low profile. Walter Owen Bentley’s motto was “To build a good car, a fast car, and the best in its class.” His cars raced climbing hills at Brooklands…scorching the tracks at the Indy 500, and those famous wins kickin’ up a little dust at LeMans.

The famous Calais-Méditerranée Express race

1 of 30 Bentley Arnage Blue Train Limited Editions

Aside from Mulsanne’s luxurious appeal, there is also a practical sense. Its powerful V8 engine is geared for today’s world. “Big Ben” is the unexpected economy car. The Mulsanne uses technology to reduce overall fuel economy via cylinder deactivation to allow the car to cruise on four cylinders under light vehicle loads.

Cam phasing is also big news in the auto industry. Cam phasers help to increase fuel efficiency by decreasing the power needed to turn the engine over and keep the camshafts in optimal positions at all times. The engine is mated to the energy-efficient 8-speed ZF automatic transmission as part of Mulsanne’s electronic network aimed at reducing fuel consumption. (ahem…if one can afford the car, obviously fuel economy is insignificant…right?)

Note the styling continuity, the previous Mulsanne saloon remains as tasteful and elegant as the current model. This only proves that good taste is never rendered redundant.

1973 Bentley T saloon

“Big Ben” is a highly intuitive luxury saloon equipped with a thinking suspension. It uses an air cushioned system with Continuous Damping Control (CDC) to refine the ride at lower speeds for comfort. It automatically lowers the car’s ride height at higher speeds to aid stability while enhancing vehicle downforce.

Drive Dynamics Control System allows the driver to program the ride operated by a rotary switch mounted next to the gear shift lever. The driver may choose from Bentley, Sport, or Comfort. And if this isn’t sufficient…there is a 4th selection. Custom mode enables the driver to select bespoke settings through Mulsanne’s multimedia system to further fine tune this luxury limo to suit their individual exigencies.

Mulsanne is a continual source of unparalleled excellence with comfort and convenience beyond the realm of ordinary luxury motorcars. For example…Mulsanne’s “High Beam Assist” automatically dips its high beam headlamps when oncoming vehicles approach to avoid dazzling the eyes of motorists at night.

This electronic system adapts the shape of the light beam according to vehicle speed operating in 4 modes from which to select: Town, Country, Motorway, and High Beam. An ingenious “Blind Spot Warning System” detects vehicles behind the car in its blind spots to predict the possibility of collision. It flashes lights in the door mirrors. Another of Mulsanne’s collision mitigation features is Advanced Automatic Stability Control (ASC) to maintain optimum vehicle poise when needed.

…The opulent Mulliner Touch

Bespoke is a sine qua non for Mulsanne. Each Bentley is handcrafted to reflect the requisites of its owner. The ultra-exclusive world of Mulsanne is further exemplified by Bentley through an extensive personal commissioning program. Mulliner is the in-house coachbuilder to design an automotive masterpiece that is as uniquely individual as one’s own finger prints. The majestic Mulliner personal commissioning service is limited only by one’s imagination…

The Mulliner touch immediately escalates Mulsanne to new heights in exclusivity and supremacy which becomes the pinnacle of Bentley luxury and elegance. One such example has been created for George Bamford of Bamford Watch Department. Bamford specializes in the bespoke customization of elegant timepieces.

The Bamford X Bentley Mulliner Mulsanne Speed was designed in an elegant monotone of chic dark hues which is a true reflection of his very own savoir-faire. His signature panache coordinates black and dark tinted elements with a Beluga finish to all interior and exterior bright ware.

Once the Mulliner magic has been cast, the motorcar becomes a highly collectible heirloom. Apart from custom handcrafted four-door saloons and limousines, Mulliner has created two-door fixedhead and drophead coupé models. Only those who know the bona-fide meaning of success can fully comprehend the true nobility of a Mulliner masterwork.

Before the spit between Bentley and Rolls Royce, HJ Mulliner, and Mulliner Park Ward handcrafted all two-door models exclusively. Bentley and Rolls Royce were at the time, built primarily as four-door saloons. The coupé models had to be coachbuilt. The elusive Corniche models became the dernier cri in grand touring coupés.

Mulliner creates exclusivity, pedigree, and élan. Each masterwork becomes a crowning achievement in all of motordom. The pleasure of owning such a magnificent example of automotive art is reveling in the fact that no other motorcar will be exactly the same…

…do I give you the business or what?

…The finale – this is the end of a magnificent era in luxury motoring. Here is the last time a body shell would be shared between these two legends. The Bentley Arnage and the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph is the end of the line. After these two icons rolled out of the assembly hall at Crewe…there became a distinct difference. “Just in fun…the fight begun, before long a web of hate was spun! Bentley pretended…same as Rolls Royce – but friends again they’d never be…so they scandalized, and criticized, and then they learned how to despise – “

Bentley Arnage exhibits understated preeminence

Arnage is the summit of unpretentious glamour

“Big Ben” stands alone today and is no longer foreshadowed by you-know-who! It’s a masterpiece that could only come from the master craftsmen. No car in years has so captured the admiration of the ultra-luxury market segment as the Bentley Mulsanne. Whatever the occasion…there is no more magnificent manner in which to arrive. This is luxury on the grand Bentley scale…unique even among other Bentley models.

The Mulsanne is rich in power assists, conveniences, appointments, and lavishly elegant interiors. The famed 6.75 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine has one of the largest displacements in the industry. Mulsanne, Mulsanne EWB, and Mulsanne Speed each possess a distinctive character of its own. Whichever sumptuous saloon you select, rest assured…you own the world’s standard of excellence in luxury motoring. Stunning elegance, extraordinary power, and exceptional handling characteristics are just a few of the outstanding attributes one may expect from a Bentley Mulsanne – (applause…applause)

Introducing the next generation of the BMW 7 Series

It just keeps getting better and better. The ultimate driving machine is at it again. So what’s BMW up to now? It’s the 7 Series making a grand re-entrance. This new breed luxury sport limousine is a culmination of technology, the most comprehensive suite of advanced performance in the history of the brand, and a vision of what is to come. The elegantly styled and boldly distinctive 2016 750Li xDrive elicits a highly emotive connection between driver and machine. BMW engineers designed it to optimize aerodynamics, shape, weight, and overall mass.

They experimented…studied…tested, and refined it to be the most efficient BMW 7 Series for the 21st century. The 2016 750Li xDrive is a large and powerful luxury saloon with staggering range and versatility. Having Flagship status, it has everything in the repertoire of BMW…that makes a BMW…a BMW. The all-new 7 Series is even more exclusive than the model it replaces – introducing the next generation of the BMW of BMW’s – it will change how one thinks about a luxury performance automobile…

Vision Future Luxury 2

Vision Future Luxury 3

The BMW Future Luxury Concept made its world debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It is the perfect marriage of luxury and logic. The BMW Future Luxury Concept gave us a glimpse into the future of Bayerische Motoren Werke, AG…the world’s largest manufacturer of luxury vehicles. This forward-looking fusion of exclusivity and innovation has become the prelude for the next generation of the 7 Series luxury saloon –

A BMW 7 Series accommodates its passengers with perfection. Down to the tiniest detail, this luxury sport saloon exudes uncompromising refinement. The company Flagship saloon is available for the launch in the US as Series 740i which starts at $81,300 and Series 750Li around $97,400. It is offered exclusively as a long wheelbase version for the US and is an inch longer in overall length than the previous model providing an extra spacious rear passenger compartment.

It is the roomiest saloon BMW has ever offered. The 2016 edition is completely in character with a BMW 7 Series. Abundant power, ample interior room, and myriad creature comforts have always marked the 7 Series as the senior rank. It isn’t pompous, arrogant, and overbearing as one would associate an ultra-luxury saloon…it remains primarily a driver’s car with the deepest and most rewarding pleasure found behind the steering wheel –

The BMW 750Li xDrive is a refined luxury car that will garner attention and respect wherever it is driven. This Flagship has duplicity. It is a luxurious limousine that can be driven as a high-spirited performance car…or a high-spirited performance car that can be driven as a luxurious limousine. The 750Li xDrive blends opulence with sheer exhilaration…brilliantly.

The all-new BMW 7 Series is considerate of the environment. Its resource-efficient materials has an exemplary life cycle. It uses energy-efficient processes while in theatre and even includes future recycling in its total design concept. This type of innovation is what one would expect from the ultimate driving machine…the engineers have always been visionaries.

The new BMW 7 Series is an advanced exercise in technology. It is built upon the latest architecture. A BMW is engineered like no other car in the world. The all-new lightweight design concept is based upon lessons learned from the BMW i-car development. Its rugged hybrid construction is an industry first. This aerodynamic sculpture uses a combination of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) technology, ultra-high tensile steel, and aluminium in its build. This sophisticated composite design is augmented by Carbon Core passenger cell technology. Portions of the bodyshell and chassis use an aluminium and steel combination; while the doors and boot lid are made from aluminium.

The unique modular construction reduces weight by up to 190 pounds while reducing unsprung weight by 15%. The 2016 7 Series is the very first mass production vehicle to use this new combo of futuristic materials and processes. The weight loss doesn’t compromise its rigidity and safety but exemplifies it even more so. It stands to reason, the lighter the vehicle…the quicker it can accelerate, respond to steering input, and come to a halt in a shorter distance – BMW uses innovation as leverage to escalate the world of motoring into a new realm of automotive design achievement.

The new BMW 7 Series has been redesigned to exceed one’s expectation in ways never imagined. The chassis includes an innovative array of technology. The front suspension has double wishbones, and the rear uses a five-link set-up. A unique four-wheel self-leveling system is powered by an electronic compressor with pressure reservoir so it keeps an attractive ride height even with the engine shut off. The level control may be manually adjusted allowing the vehicle’s ride height to be raised slightly to compensate for rough roads and uneven pavement. These electronic dampers greatly fine-tune ride and suspension performance to refine handling qualities.

The adaptive controls allow the driver to calibrate this highly sophisticated system using the standard Driving Dynamics Control switch located on the center console. Comfort, Sport, ECO PRO, and Adaptive modes are available to fine tune the 7 Series to personal requirements. This system coordinates transmission shifts, direct steering response, and damper tuning.

And who would have thought the new BMW 7 Series would have an economy mode. With the Driving Dynamics Control switch activated and set to ECO PRO. The system takes full advantage of the 7 Series lightweight hybrid construction and de-couples the powertrain allowing this luxury limo to coast while driving speeds are between 31 through 100 mph. It uses Brake Energy Regeneration and Auto Start/Stop functions for a new realm in 7 Series technology. This mode’s range of functions are individually programmable. The system is sophisticated enough to offer efficiency tips with the Route-ahead Assistant which advise efficient driving styles based upon navigation data-based shift strategy matching gear selection to the driving situation.

The active chassis control while in Sport mode automatically lowers itself at highway speeds to boost aerodynamics. The Adaptive mode adjusts itself contingent upon driving style and changing route profile. The logic reacts to movement of the accelerator and steering wheel when gear selector is in either “D or S” positions. The power train and chassis system are configured for Sport or Comfort performance depending upon the driving situation.

BMW’s Dynamic Performance Control torque vectoring system, Dynamic Stability Control, and xDrive work together in a network. The Driving Dynamics Control enables the driver to enhance their vehicle’s character to accommodate their driving style. The Comfort setting includes Comfort+ mode stored. Drivers may further refine their vehicle for the Sport and ECO PRO modes thru the iDrive operating system. The 21st century thinking suspension is due in no small part to the BMW philosophy of increased performance using less energy.

A new option debuting in the all-new 7 Series is the Active Comfort Drive with Road Preview. It enhances the Driving Dynamics Control working with both front and rear suspension. It’s an active chassis control system that electro-mechanically manages stability. The system works in unison with the electronic dampers for increased driving comfort. The system intuitively anticipates road conditions from data analysis using the navigation system to help respond to the road.

The Integral Active Steering option has been redesigned and can be offered with the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system. It adjusts the rear wheels in either same or opposing direction while steering. The variable steering rack ratio changes according to road requirements especially while changing lanes and cornering.

V8 Engine

This luxury performance saloon flexes its muscles with highly refined manners. Two engine configurations are available for the model’s launch. A new 4.4 litre TwinPower Turbo powers Series 750Li, while a 3.0 litre Inline 6-cylinder also with TwinPower Turbo technology is the power source for Series 740i. With a powerful engine and sophisticated suspension system, the 2016 7 Series is bred for the ultimate in performance.

Notorious performance is a BMW attribute. Its engine is built to endure. The formidable 750Li xDrive features a refined 4.4 litre V8. This all-new design incorporates the intake manifold partially into the cylinder head which decrease air-flow resistance maximizing air-flow volume. The modular design of the engine’s components reduces the size to conserve space and weight boosting overall operating efficiency.

Underneath the sleek aerodynamic hood of the 750Li xDrive is an extremely powerful and efficient V8. It cranks out 445 hp @ 5,000-6,000 rpm with 657 Nm of peak torque @ 1,800-4,500 rpm. It has a top speed in the 130 mph range. The engine is mated to an 8-speed 8HP75 Sport Automatic Steptronic automatic transmission that boosts overall efficiency and is linked to the navigation system. Navigation data-based shift strategy matches gear selection to driving situations. The transmission may be manually shifted via steering wheel mounted paddle shifts. The system includes Launch Control to maximize power and optimize traction from standing starts.

The engine is equipped with TwinScroll turbochargers featuring flow-separated, bank-specific exhaust manifolds made from thin-wall castings. The compression ratio is now 10.5:1. The latest Valvetronic and Double-Vanos technology refines its breathing abilities. Separate flows through cylinder heads and cylinder liners now has a map-controlled coolant pump to optimize heat dissipation.

The new V8 engine is equipped with the latest version of the intelligent all-wheel drive system. The oil supply is optimized by a new more efficient transfer case. The electronically controlled power split between front and rear wheels enhances traction, stability, and overall handling dynamics. The system is 40:60 biased and is networked into the ABS and Dynamic Stability Control systems respectively. Its intuition regains traction and improves directional stability without human intervention.

BMW works assiduously designing some of the most technologically advanced automobiles in the world. The performance capabilities of a BMW are legendary. The BMW 7 Series has always shunned traditional status-quo regarding automotive luxury. The 2016 750Li xDrive continues the proud heritage of the ultimate driving machine with an all-new interpretation. It is built to satisfy the expectations most demanding driving enthusiasts. The 7 Series successfully incorporates exceptional luxury, innovative technology, and total balanced performance to remain distinctive among the world’s luxury automobiles.

BMW has always been a visionary…they have alternative technologies for tomorrow without violating the BMW principles of today. The brand uses evolutionary solutions that are thoroughly developed for real world situations. These solutions embody not merely new ideas, but also years of painstaking research and testing. No BMW motorcar is developed from a blinding flash of inspiration. Relentless refinement…precision engineering…innovative technology, and sophisticated understatement all network to form the all-new BMW 7 Series –

2016 Mercedes-Maybach Is Elite Sophistication

Posted in Editorials, Extreme Luxury, Grande Marque, Luxury Sedans, Maybach, Mercedes Benz, Mercedes-Maybach with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 12, 2015 by 99MilesPerHour

“Nil fato relinquemus”

The Mercedes-Maybach is an intriguing new Flagship with the core values of a German precision automotive legend. It characterizes a modern expression of dynamism, intelligence, and progressivism. The new Mercedes-Maybach has a specific character yet it draws unmistakably from the Mercedes-Benz genetic pool. It will also encompass the engineering prowess and paramount concern for safety, which made the Mercedes-Benz brand famous.

The Mercedes-Maybach debuted at the Geneva Motor Show February 17, 2015. These magnificent luxury saloons will be available as the S500, S550 exclusively for the US market, the S600, and the ultimate achievement in motoring…the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman limousine.

The Mercedes-Maybach S600 top…Mercedes-Benz S600 bottom…to differentiate the two, the Maybach S600 rear doors are modified placing the rear door quarter windows into the “C” pillars, and placing the rear seats further back which affords more privacy for rear seat passengers. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 uses chrome to frame the windows and “B” pillars. It has a longer length than the Mercedes-Benz S600 which provides more room in the rear passenger compartment as well. They both have lovely, luxurious silhouettes.

The Mercedes-Maybach is not a mere trim level, to clear up any misconceptions. It is an ultra-luxurious sub-brand of Daimler AG that blends the integrity and engineering achievement of the S-Class with the heritage and prestige of the Maybach name. These are even more exclusive than the S-Class which places the Mercedes-Maybach in a luxury class all by itself. It has been created for customers who demand the best in automotive design and manufacture.

Wilhelm Maybach

The Maybach legend dates back to 1909 when it was founded by Wilhelm Maybach. The company built diesel and gas engines for zeppelins which are a type of rigid airship. The company built their first experimental car in 1919, and built the production version in 1921. They built a variety of luxury cars between 1921 and 1940 which are now highly sought classics. Daimler-Benz bought the company in 1960. After which, the Maybach Company was used to hand-build special luxury Mercedes-Benz editions in the W108 and W116 model range.

The Maybach name was revamped in 1997 with a luxury car concept shown at the Tokyo Motor Show. They showcased two models as the Maybach 57 and the long wheelbase variant Maybach 62 which are the model’s lengths in metric decimeters. These automobiles were advertised as chauffeur-driven and never owner-driven with exclusivity being the intent. The Maybach 57 and Maybach 62 were built from 2002 until production ceased in 2012. Only 3,000 were built during its tenure. Prices ranged from $344,000 USD for the Maybach 57 and $1 Million USD for the Landaulette.

Rolls Royce is the pinnacle of supremacy and exclusivity in ultra-luxury motorcars…each is a highly bespoke masterpiece expressing the individuality of its owner’s good taste. This is why no two Rolls Royce motorcars are ever alike. The word “Phantom” evokes elegance…opulence…decadent luxury. The Phantom epitomizes Rolls Royce in a discreetly notorious manner. It has always been the most luxurious hand-crafted limousine in the Rolls Royce model hierarchy.

So what could be even more exclusive? A Rolls Royce limited edition. It is the ultimate in Rolls Royce individuality; it meets the requirements of the owner who prefers an automobile of particular distinction. One such luxurious limited edition is the Limelight Collection for the 2015 model year. Only 25 of these unique saloons will be built for world-wide distribution. It was introduced at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show.

“All the world’s a stage…”

These provocative saloons go the extra mile for the high-profile personas that travel as they work. Personal accoutrements and added conveniences are paramount to an important personality on the go while in between engagements. This is “home” in these hectic circumstances. The designers created the Limelight Collection targeting a select group of people who spend their lives in the public eye. Price is in the $650,000 neighborhood…but then, if one must ask the price, they are evidently not clientele suitable for this masterwork –

“Sumptuously elegant…decadently luxurious”

These ultra-exclusive saloons provide comfort as top priority. The Phantom Suite offers a new and unique luxury seating configuration. It seats four…and only four. Rolls Royce engineers and ergonomists worked closely with the medical profession to establish optimum seating positions that relax the body most while traveling. In luxury saloons such as these, it’s the rear passenger compartment that makes the difference.

At the touch of a button, the rear seats recline the body 27″ helping the head to rest upon the head restraint cushion. The lower body is pampered by a new calf rest that raises 68″ for support. The carpeted footrest raises 30″ from the floor allowing the occupant to stretch out in total comfort. These all contribute to a totally relaxed posture while in motion. This is a requisite for the high-profile individual who spends a great deal of time traveling from one engagement to another. The rear compartment of a Rolls Royce Phantom is another world of unparalleled luxury and discretion.

“Exclusively distinctive…”

Rolls Royce is synonymous with bespoke. Personalized panniers for both genders located in the rear doors open effortlessly at the push of the hand. They may be ordered to suit whatever personal possessions they are required to accommodate.

Concealed fragrance holders are available for three individual bottles. The hand-made perfume bottles from the famous Bresle Valley in North West France ensure the passenger has his/her fragrance as required. Another concealed panel holds watches and jewelry. A bottom left pocket houses a universal vanity pouch made of the finest materials to hold credit cards, business cards, make up, etc. Accessory Z-Boxes constructed of carbon fiber milled in aluminium and hand covered in the finest leather complete the door pannier. Sky is the limit when it comes to personalization, as long as it is legal and conforms to the beauty of a Rolls Royce motorcar –

“Aesthetically exclusive…”

The Limelight Collection offers a choice of two distinctive interior trims as well as several new bespoke features to further enhance individuality. Complex embroidery in a diamond quilted stitching augments the upholstery seat flutes, door cards, rear console, and folding table backs.

The Light contrast scheme features Seashell and Navy Blue contrast leather with Seashell tone on tone stitching. The Dark contrast scheme offers Navy Blue and Seashell contrast leather with Navy Blue tone on tone stitching.

A Limelight Collection signature feature is a two-veneer wood treatment. These unique veneers demonstrate the prowess of the wood workers at Rolls Royce. Piano Seashell is used on the door garnish rails blending with the leather color schemes. Smoked Chestnut completes the color scheme; this is the first time this veneer has been used in a Rolls Royce Phantom.

A specifically crafted timepiece for the Limelight Collection is color coordinated to the rich Gala Blue exterior and the diamond quilted design from the interior.

“A true Rolls Royce Flagship in every respect”

This exquisite motorcar is finished in Gala Blue, another signature feature of the Limelight Collection. The Seashell and Navy Blue hand-painted diamond motive coachlines simulates a three-dimensional illusion of a diamond bracelet draped over the surface of the car. The finishing touch is the unique nine-spoke aluminium alloy wheels.

The chauffeur gets a secret thrill driving this luxury barouche. The Phantom saloon from the Limelight Collection is powered by the Rolls Royce 6.8 litre 48-valve DOHC V12 engine with variable valve control. The engine produces 453 hp @ 5,350 rpm with 719 Nm of peak torque @ 3,500 rpm. Longitudinal acceleration is rated as 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds. It is mated to an 8-speed ZF electronic automatic transmission.

The Phantom is a large front engine rear drive saloon built using monocoque construction of integral steel with aluminium doors, bonnet, boot, and front wings. It is fitted with an independent 4-wheel suspension. The front suspension is equipped with double wishbones. The rear uses a multi-link set up.

Its technology includes 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS. A sophisticated automatic leveling system keeps the Phantom at optimum height regardless of load or road conditions. Speed sensitive power steering aids the Phantom’s effortless overall operation.

RR Limelight Collection Treadplate

A Rolls Royce is designed to defend itself. Its security system includes a panic alarm, immobilizer, and a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament that retracts into the radiator grille when the system is activated or when it is tampered with.

Only 25 Phantoms will be available world-wide for the Limelight Collection. Authentic luxury is only achieved through ultimately understanding the needs and desires of the world’s most discerning patrons. These highly bespoke masterpieces express the individuality of their owner’s good taste. Comfort and convenience meets the requirements of the owner who prefers an automobile of particular distinction. Rolls Royce continues to be the pinnacle of exclusivity and supremacy in the world of ultra-luxury motorcars. Limited editions such as the Limelight Collection exemplifies this exclusivity to an even higher degree and are available only to a successful few…
